Dear Hopkins Family
I've just heard about your loss and wanted to express my deepest sympathy. I met Will in Texas and we reconnected again in California...your family is in my thoughts and prayers during this time of mourning. Know that Will was a great friend, and was loved by many.

Hopkins Family, 
 I will always remember what an incredibly polite and respectful young man Will was. I first met Will when he came over to hang out with his girlfriend Emily who was staying the nite with my daughter Jessica. I believe that was freshman year for them, and the whole boy thing was a bit scary for me as a mother of a teenage daughter. But something about Will put me at ease. He had qualities about him that made me trust his presence in my home at anytime. He protected all the people in his life. I knew that my daughter was safe when they were together. I remember that he would make sure Jessica and Emily were safe on the bus,and when he got his first car he gave them rides to and from school. He was just an awsome guy!!!! 
 Not long after I met Will I was fortunate enough to meet Anneke. I first met her at a ESC meeting at Travis AFB, I instantly knew that I had found a good friend. I didn't know Dwayne very well, but the few times I spent time with the whole family I realized that Will was such an awsome young man because of his awsome parents!!!!! 
 Anneke and Dwayne, I want you to know that your amazing son Will is going to be missed by many. I hope all of the sincere thoughts and prayers from all the people that love and care for you help in this sorrowful time. I truely believe that God has a plan for each and everyone of us. As hard as it is to understand why God felt that Wills plan was to join him in Heaven, God obviously had his reasons. After losing both my parents I came to realize that God does have a plan, and I came to accept that. However it was a process that I had to go through. I want you to know that I have you in my prayers as so many others do too.

Though our paths crossed in a not so pleasant way I knew from the beginning that Will was real. His love for family and willingness to stand up for what he believed in was a true display of character. He will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

 Words can not express how sadden and lost we have all been by Will’s departure. My wife, my daughter, and my deepest prayers go to you. As you remember, Will and I were best of friends together while stationed at Travis AFB. I remember meeting Will for the first time about 5 years ago, back in middle school, and he was the best guy you could ever meet. I loved Will like he was my own brother. Everyday I stop and still can’t believe he is gone. I know Will loved you guys so much and always strived to make your family happy. Mariah stay strong and know that your brother is still watching over you to take care of you. If there is anything I can do to help you guys I am here for you, as you guys were there for me. Dear Will's Family.

I never had the privilege of meeting you, however I do have few but good memories of your son William. I am deeply sorry for your loss. Just know that your not alone and that myself as well as my husband Phillip are too still dwealing on his loss. I only wish Will was still here so he could of held and met our new born daughter Jasenya. My prayers are with you all as well as you son.

The Hopkins Family, I can't even begin to tell you how sorry I am. Will was my best friend, someone that I always turned to with every problem I had. There wasn't a day that went by that I didn't think about him or talk to him. He never let me down, and was always trying to make me smile somehow. From the first time I met him on the bus, and he showed me his purple contacts, I remember it so well. I came home so excited that he moved to Travis, I swear he was all my family heard about. We built such a strong friendship that we were always together or in contact someway. Always talking on the phone or hanging out, it was always something. There is one memory I will never forget. When Will got his Capris and he was waiting for his dad to get off work so we could go take the car for a drive. So when his dad got home we went to the hospital parking lot and Will was listening to his dad's directions about where to go. He was so excited about driving and that his car had pillows in the back seat,and he was just smiling, and he said "My car is CLEAN." It's times like this that I realize how much of a good person Will was and how much joy he brought to my life along with many others lifes. When your family moved that was one of the hardest times ever. But when I heard his voice again and knew I still had my best friend, and I knew everything was going to be ok. You raised such a wonderful son. I thank God everyday that I was able to meet him and become such great friends with him. He was such a big part of my life, and loved by many. He is now watching over all of us and there to keep us safe. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you, and I am always here for you. Emily

Will was always living life with no regrets or worries. He was a great friend and a true man. When I heard of Will's passing I hadn't seen him for 2 years. Will was a good friend and I only wish that I could have seen more of him while he was out in California.

Will was one of my dearest friends during some of my most trying times. I will forever be grateful to have had in him in my life, albeit far too short a time. Dwayne and Anneke, I truly know your pain. We lost our son at a young age and it still lingers with me. But I can tell you that God is good and He has taken me throug my period of grief. I didn't know Will personally, but I know and am good friends with his girlfriend, Amber. I know that Will was a kind human being who cared and looked out for Amber. That alone says that he is and will be rembered as a person who changed the world, to at least one person.
