William Paul Krant, born in Boston, Massachusetts on April 21, 1949, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018, at the age of 69. William was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Rita Krant, and his wife, Connie Krant. He is survived by his children, Jennifer Gayton (Scott Garza) and Jason Samaniego Krant; siblings, Leo Krant and John Krant; and many other family members and friends.
William received his bachelor’s degree from Boston College, and a master’s degree from the University of Michigan. He then worked for over 35 years as a mathematics professor for Palo Alto and El Paso Community Colleges.
He was an avid baseball fan, and especially enjoyed the Red Sox. He traveled frequently, and loved to photograph and capture memorable moments and events. William was an integral part of St. Luke’s Catholic Church, where he was a lector and member of the choir. He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul organization and an advocate for the Beginning Experience group. He enjoyed traveling with this group and helped lead their community events. William will always be fondly remembered for his big heart, great spirit, and willingness to open his home and help others in any way he could.
A rosary will be held at 9:30 AM on Friday, September 28, 2018, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, with a Memorial Mass following at 10:00 AM. William’s final resting place will be at San Fernando Cemetery II at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in William’s honor to St. Luke’s Catholic Church, St. Vincent de Paul, UNICEF, Beginning Experience, or the American Cancer Society.
