

Bill graduated from Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1947. He earned a Bachelor of Music degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in 1953 with a Major in Choral Directing. He also was a member of the Bison Glee Club. He earned a Master of Education degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1958 with a Major in Guidance and Counseling. He also was a candidate for his PhD degree.
He served in the U.S. Army for two years with 18 months in Europe, near Munich, Germany.
Bill was in the Oklahoma City Public School System as a Teacher, Counselor and Assistant Principal. He and his family moved to San Antonio in 1968 to accept a position of Counselor at San Antonio College with the rank of Assistant Director, and then the Acting Director of the Department. After nearly 30 years in the field of Education, Bill retired from San Antonio College on December 31, 1986, as Professor Emeritus of Guidance and Counseling.
He was saved as a nine year old boy in the Springdale Baptist Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was active in church music in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. He and his family joined Baptist Temple Church in July of 1969, and was ordained a Deacon on March 23, 1975. For 35 years, he was the Minister of Music and sang in the quartet along with teaching Sunday School. From 1988 to 1989, he served as Chairman of the Deacons.
He is currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Helotes. He lived his life to honor the Lord and was a faithful servant. Bill was the rock of our family, the one we could count on for advice with wisdom and kindness. He was such a blessing to so many people ~ words cannot express how much he will be missed.
Bill is survived by his loving family, including great-grandchildren, Kylie Grace and his name sake, Brody William Fisher.
