Lt. Col. WM. Lance McKinney, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Lance was born on November 4, 1944, in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents James O. McKinney and Amy McKinney (nee Mosley). Lance graduated with a history/economics degree from Westminster College and earned a Master’s degree in Aviation Management from Embry-Riddle university. He led an amazing career in the Air Force as a fighter pilot, where he later retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Following his military career, he was the Operations Manager at the Albuquerque Sunport. Throughout the years, Lance’s assignments in the military enabled the family to travel all over the world. He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved son, Jason. Lance is survived by his wife, Judy McKinney; daughter, Samantha Frank (Salvador Zurita, Jr.); and his fur friend (Golden/Pyrenees) Buster and friends across the globe. He will be greatly missed.
