Mr. Messer was born 4 February 1937 in Arcadia, Florida to Alfred Messer and Josephine Hester.
After completing high school, William decided to seek success and serve his country through a U.S.
Air Force career. He served in the enlisted ranks for more than 20 years gaining expertise in designing
and programming the Air Force's earliest automated systems to manage world-wide logistics
operations. After his distinguished Air Force career ended in 1975, he worked several years in San
Antonio with the insurance industry.
Mr. Messer had an active retirement that included traveling to National Parks and landmarks, bird
watching, fishing, gardening, and bowling. At home, he relaxed by listening to talk radio and watching
western movies. In 2002, he married the love of his life, Valentina. They enjoyed many wonderful
years together. He is survived by Valentina; a son from a previous marriage, Gregory Messer, and
some very good friends.
