

William Bee Miller, age 80, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Carlos Fuentes. William at age 17, joined the military and proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. While in the Corps, he participated with the boxing team and after leaving the service, also boxed professionally. He managed the advertising department with the San Antonio Light, later working with the Express News and eventually went on to own a business dealing with Antiquarian Books. He was truly a renaissance man; a world traveler, an accomplished published poet, as well as a knowledgeable historian. He was a member of MENSA, belonged to Alamo Writers Unlimited and was a founder of the Liars Club. He is survived by his sons: George Thomas Miller; Anthony Allen Miller and his wife, Melanie; Charles Daniel Miller and their mother, Zoila Waltz; grandchildren: Christen Argueta, Lauren Miller, Elizabeth Miller and Julia Miller; and sister: Margaret Casanova.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 20th from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Porter Loring.
