William Michael Dr. Rooney

Dr. Rooney, or Bill as he was known by most, was a lifelong seeker of knowledge obtaining two Master's degrees and a PhD in Clinical Psychology.

He devoted over 30 years of his life as social servant, aiding the destitute and the underprivileged who faced the daily struggle with mental illness. Through his time he served in a range of capacities from creating connections with individuals through counseling, championing their cause as the president of a mental health center and finally, providing support to our nations heroes, the active duty service members of The United States Army.

Bill was not without his own demons. He faced the battle of alcoholism for most of his life but driven by his immense love for his family, he endured that burden for as long as possible. In the end, he surrendered to this fight with addiction when he decided to take his own life.

Regardless of how his story ended and who he was in that final moment, one mistake does not define a life. He enriched the lives of many and it's within those hearts which he touched that the true Bill Rooney lives on.
