

Bill passed away peacefully from this life to the next on Wednesday, June 21, 2023. He was born in San Antonio and graduated from MacArthur High School and Trinity University. Bill was a decorated intelligence officer in the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam. He had a long career as a Human Resources Executive and was a mentor to many. Bill always loved the Lord and was an active member of First Presbyterian Church serving as both a Deacon and an Elder and helping lead several mission trips to the Yucatan. He was also a board member for several non-profit organizations. Bill liked tools and always needed “just one more.” He enjoyed all kinds of woodworking projects from helping a friend with a home repair to building a skateboard ramp in the backyard. Boating and waterskiing at the lake with his family was a favorite activity for Bill as was traveling with his wife Linda and spending lots of time with his daughter and grandsons. He was also known as a great storyteller, a faithful friend, and for being resolute to the end. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Undene Ruhmann, sister Judy Ruhmann, and son Bradley Ruhmann. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Hawthorne Ruhmann, daughter Rebecca Ruhmann Willmon, and grandsons Parker Willmon and Spencer Willmon as well as much loved in laws, cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be Monday, June 26, 2023 at 2:30pm at First Presbyterian Church, 404 N. Alamo, San Antonio, Texas 78205. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church of San Antonio or to the charity of your choice.
