William Scott Sellers, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away on April 20th at the age of 33. Scott was devoted to his Christian faith and has been a part of the communities of Bulverde Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Universal City. He was an active member of Bible Study Fellowship. Scott's faith provided him with an uncommon strength of character. He embodied hope and love each day of his life despite many physical obstacles brought on by his Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. As his muscles atrophied, his spirit and intelligence grew stronger. Those who knew Scott think first of his resilience, wit, faith, humor, and lifelong love of basketball. Scott served as the statistician for the basketball team at Judson High School, from which he graduated in 2003, and he was a Spurs super-fan. Truly, all who knew Scott loved him, and we will miss him daily and continue to be inspired by his great courage.
Scott is survived by his parents, Bill and Kathy Sellers; his sisters, Lauren Wishkoski and Katie Singleton; his brothers-in-law, Alex Wishkoski and Derick Singleton; his grandparents, Shirley Wright and Jerry and Don McQueen; many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; his best friend Amy Williamson; and his beloved dogs Daisy and Buddy. Scott is preceded in death by his grandfathers, George Wright and Max Sellers.
We will be celebrating Scott's life on Wednesday, April 24th, at 1:00 p.m. at Bulverde Baptist Church (1331 Bulverde Road, Bulverde, TX 78163) with a reception following the service. All are welcome!
In lieu of sending flowers you can make a donation in Scott's name to support construction of Morgan's Wonderland Camp, an ultra-accessible and inclusive camp for people of all abilities, in honor of Scott's love of Morgan's Wonderland and his memorable summers spent at the Muscular Dystrophy Association's summer camp.
