William E. Sheppard

"Sonny" as he was affectionately called by his sister and mother retired as a homicide detective with SAPD after 35 years. He loved being a detective and he also worked security for JC Penney at McCreless Mall and Hyatt Regency Hotel downtown.

Bill was honorably discharged from the US Navy after serving his country in WWII. He loved hunting, fishing, dog races and LAS VEGAS. Bill also loved to read westerns and detective books and he loved his lottery scratch offs.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Arthur and his mother, Ollie.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Anita "Mickey"; son, Rene Mary Sheppard; daughters, Linda George Swenson, Cindy Tony Cillo, Shannon Ken Davenport; seven grandchildren, sister, Lois Sheppard; in-laws, nieces, nephews, and numerous other relatives and friends.

The family wishes to give a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Carlos Orozco and wife, Alicia, to the providers who gave him such loving care, Yolanda, Presley, MaryAnn, and Frank, and our special family friend, Peggy.
