She was born November 23, 1918 to R. H. and Bennie Mayo in Corsicana, Texas. She finished high school and on June 16, 1938 married Thomas W. Ward.
he was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Eugene and Robert; and a son, Thomas Ward, Jr. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Carol Roberts and husband, Tommy; a sister Ladell Cranford; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Before her late illness, she enjoyed playing golf and traveling. She was a member of the Los Angeles Heights Presbyterian Church.
She and her husband were married 67 years.
