

Wilma Olive Lynch, age 81, passed away at her ranch in Poteet, surrounded by her family on Friday, December 4, 2020. She was born on September 29, 1939 in Rio Grande City, Texas to Ewell Smith and Amanda Salinas Hocker. She was one of six children. She graduated from Rio Grande City High School and went to Cosmetology school in San Antonio were she met and married Harold A. Lynch Jr. She was a military wife who raised six children together while her husband served in the Air Force. Later in her life she became a Retail Manager at Target and retired after 25 years. She always had a love of land and cattle which brought her to Poteet to start a ranch with her husband who preceded her in death.
Left to honor Wilma and remember her love are Wilma’s six children, Hal (Kelly) Lynch, Terri (Alan) Bassuk, Karl Lynch, Scott (Denise) Lynch, Eric Lynch, and Christine (John) O’Brien, ten grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Her siblings; Edward (deceased) Amanda, Bernice, Jackie, and Susie.
Visitation will be on Thursday, December 17th from 6-8 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 18, 2020 at 9:30 am at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio. Burial will follow at Fort Sam National Cemetery.
