

Lt. Col. Wilson M. Ben, USAF Retired, age 61, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013. He was born in Manhattan, New York on December 2, 1951 to Jew Shik Ben and Providencia Quiles Ben. He is survived by his wife, Hilda P. Ben; daughters, Megan Justine Wheeler and husband Lee, Katie Jordan Ben; granddaughter, Annalise Wheeler; two sisters, Josephine Vargas and family, Landhing Moran and family; one brother, William Ben and family, and two nieces Christine and Cassandra Perez. He served his country for 27 years to include several overseas tours and deployments in support of Operations Provide Comfort, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom before his retirement in 2007. He also served God through his faithfulness in the church as a Sunday School Teacher, as well as in the Missions and Evangelism Ministries.
The visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 from 6:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. at the Leon Valley Baptist Church, 7990 Grissom Rd. San Antonio, TX 78251 with Rev. Forrest Jones officiating. The interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to the Romanian Orphanage in care of the Leon Valley Baptist Church.
