Life Story
Yolanda Rosales Evans was born October 17, 1944 to Raul and Mary Rosales of San Antonio, Texas. She was one of 4 children, growing up in a loving household with an older brother, Raul Jr., older sister, Sylvia, and younger sister, Yvonne. She graduated from Burbank High School in 1962 before beginning her career in civilian service to the Armed Forces of the United States.
In 1966, while working as a secretary on the air base, she met Ted Evans who was attending Officer Training School in San Antonio, Texas. After a short courtship, the two married and had two children, Lisa Dianne and Richard Todd Evans.
Before Lisa was born, Yolanda temporarily left work to take on the role of military wife and raise her family. She moved with Ted and the kids to Alaska, back to San Antonio, Nebraska, Italy and ultimately back to San Antonio. During this time, the family grew into a very close knit unit and lovely memories were made. Yolanda was a wonderful wife and mother.
Once back in San Antonio, Yolanda returned to government service in 1984. She spent the next 28 years performing her duties to an extremely high level. Her expertise and dedication garnered her professional recognition and several awards. But the friends she made and colleagues she met along the way were what she truly valued.
Late in life, after Ted passed, Yolanda took on the challenge of moving from San Antonio to League City to be closer to her only granddaughter, Rosella. Her family meant the world to her and being able to see Zella grow brought her great joy.
Yolanda is survived by her daughter, Lisa Frost and husband, Gary; her son, Richard and wife, Cristina; granddaughter, Rosella; her brother, Raul Jr.; sisters, Sylvia and Yvonne, and a large extended family.
Yolanda is preceded in death by Ted Rolfe Evans. They will rest together now in peace.
