

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for her life, we announce the passing of Yolanda Gonzales, born on November 13, 1931, passed away on November 20, 2025, at the age of 94. Yolanda resided in Brownsville, Texas.
She was a cherished wife, devolated mother, grandmother and beloved educator. Yolanda’s gentle spirit and unwavering kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Yolanda dedicated 41 remarkable years to teaching at Annie S Putegnat Elementary, shaping countless young minds with patience, wisdom, and a genuine love for learning. Her classroom was more than a place of instruction—it was a haven of encouragement, laughter, and compassion. Many of her students carried her lessons far beyond their school years, remembering her as a teacher who believed in them wholeheartedly.
At home, Yolanda found joy in the simple and meaningful things. She was an avid reader, a gifted home cook whose meals brought family together, and an enthusiastic traveler who embraced new places with curiosity and gratitude. She honored her loved ones with quiet devotion, faithfully visiting and tending to their cemetery plots, ensuring they were remembered with the same love she shared in life.
Yolanda’s greatest pride was her family. She was a loving mother whose guidance and warmth shaped her children’s lives, and a devoted wife who built a home filled with love, respect, and laughter. Her kindness, strength, and gentle humor will be dearly missed but forever remembered.
Though Yolanda has left this world, her legacy lives on—in the countless lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the love she gave so freely. May her memory be a blessing and her spirit continue to guide those who loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Edward Gonzales Jr., her brother, Carlos A. Carrales, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Yolanda was predeceased by her son, David Edward Gonzales, her daughter, Karen M. Gonzales, her mother, Margarita Saenz, and her father, Anecleto D. Coronado.
Visitation will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, located at 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, Texas, 78232, on December 4, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 PM.
The Funeral Service will take place at the same venue on December 5, 2025, starting at 10:00 am.
A Graveside Service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, located at 17501 Nacogdoches, San Antonio, Texas, 78266, on December 5, 2025, at 11:15 am.
