She was born on February 6, 1947, in San Antonio, Texas, to her parents Tobias and Anita Gonzales. After graduating high school, Yolanda went on to work in retail for the rest of her life - a testament to her dedication to helping others. She furthered her service to the community via her involvement in church activities and caring for her neighborhood stray cats.
Along with serving her community, Yolanda appreciated the simple things in life. She loved horror and science fiction movies, sharing a meal with loved ones at restaurants, and walking on the beach. She'll be remembered for her warmth, quiet strength, compassion for stray cats, and deep devotion to her family. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Linda A. Ruiz, who will carry and treasure Yolanda's memory forever.
