Yolanda Tavarez entered into rest October 6, 2011 at the age of 68. She was born January 25, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas to Ferman and Margarita Suarez. Yolanda had several hobbies and found joy and happiness in many things. She liked studying history, enjoyed gardening and crafts, such as decorating and antiquing. Yolanda took great joy in spending time with family and friends. She was kindhearted and a wonderful, devoted caregiver to her family. She will be deeply missed by so many who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Yolanda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Abel Tavarez; son, Abel Tavarez III and wife Irma; daughters, Patricia Tavarez, Elizabeth Leon and husband Victor; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and brother, Ferman Suarez, Jr. and his wife Alicia.
A visitation will be Tuesday, October 11, 2011 from 6PM to 9PM with a Rosary to be recited at 7PM at Sunset Funeral Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at 10AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park.
