It is with profound sadness and endless love, we remember Ysavel "Koi" Lilliana Martinez, born on July 8, 2008 and passed away at the age of 18. Though her time with us was far too short, she filled every moment with color, laughter, and a spirit that could never be contained.
She lived life boldly and authentically. Outspoken, outgoing, and wonderfully spontaneous, she embraced being exactly who she was. Whether her hair was pink, purple, teal, or a combination of all three, she wore her vibrant colors as a reflection of the bright light she brought into the lives of everyone around her. She loved music, especially Drake, Hello Kitty, and cows.
She loved her animals and waited until she turned 18 to adopt her cat, Latte, from the Humane Society. Her compassion for animals reflected the kindness and empathy she carried within her. She dreamed of attending school to study cosmetology and psychology—two paths that perfectly reflected who she was.
Her vibrant spirit, compassionate heart, and colorful soul will continue to inspire all who loved her.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, William Zimmerman; aunt, Ashley Saenz and uncle, Daniel Lujan Jr.
She is survived by her loving parents, Michael Martinez & Cynthia Zimmerman and Isaac & Desiree Cabello; siblings, Savannah Cabello, Isaac Cabello Jr. (Alyssa Espinosa), Amara Angelina Martinez, Nicolai Cavazos, Alicia Batt and Meranda Sanchez. She is also survived by grandmothers, Gloria Casares and Dorothy Martinez, her cat, Latte; dog, Bagel, numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
