On November 14, 2011, Zeferino Menchaca Jr. lost his battle with cancer. He was born in Laredo, Texas on June 22, 1939. He is preceded in death by both his parents, a brother and a sister. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Menchaca of 51 years, his two daughters, Irma Menchaca and Ida Saenz, son-in-law, Gabriel Saenz; two granddaughters, Laura Nicole Menchaca and Justine Nicole Saenz; 5 brothers, 2 sisters and many cousins, nieces, nephews and numerous friends. Mr. Menchaca was a prominent business man in San Antonio and very generous man. The family business, South Texas Spice will be continued by his 2 daughters. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with an evening service at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 18, 2011 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3.
