

Alfred Escamilla 99 yrs. old. Oct. 5, 1916-Feb 4, 2016 passed away peacefully in his home on Feb, 4th with his family present after a brief illness. Born in San Antonio, TX to Telesforo and Guadalupe Moreno Escamilla, the eldest of 4 children. Al lived and worked many jobs in TX learning skills and making friendships that would serve him all of his life. His first marriage produced 2 children, Al Jr. and Amada Irma Escamilla. In 1941, Al moved to Los Angeles and met his future wife and soul-mate Josephine Lugo. They were married in 1944 and moved to San Bernardino. Josie passed away in 2014 after 70 years of marriage. Al and Josie had 4 children, Anna Marie, Robert “Nick”, Elva and Alicia. They also had 6 grand-children and 7 grt. grand children. (Al is survived by 2 sisters, Teresa Enriquez and Ever Peralta) Al worked for 32 years at Gate City Beverage Co. as their top salesman. He was an avid golfer, sports fisherman and lover of music. After retirement, he and Josie traveled extensively especially to Europe and Baja California. His nick name was “Mr. Baja”. Surviving the Great Depression, Al knew the value of a dollar and the qualities of honesty and integrity which he passed on to his family. Service will be held on February 18, 2016 at 1 pm at Mt. View Mortuary and Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave. San Bernardino, CA.
