

Dedicated wife, loving mother and grandmother Betty Jane Lewis, age 88, of Highland, California, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones at Redlands Community Hospital. She was a dedicated wife, involved mother, and grandmother. She was a wonderful example of faith, hope and family. Betty was born January 30, 1927, in Carterville, Illinois to Charles and Nina DuBois. She was the youngest of three children. She graduated from Royalton High School in Royalton, Illinois in 1945.
Betty married Bill E. Lewis on May 17, 1946. In 1954, they moved from Illinois to Highland, California. Bill and Betty owned and operated Lewis Body Shop in Highland, California for 37 years. Betty managed the administrative duties of the business. In 1988, the business expanded and Betty owned and operated Lewis Limousine for three years.
Betty and Bill enjoyed traveling together. They visited many wonderful places. She also loved playing Bunco with her friends. Betty was an active Pythian Sister for more than 30 years, where she helped with “Operation Send Off” at Norton Air Force Base during the Vietnam War.
She was a resident of Valencia Lea Mobile Home Park in Highland for 18 years.
She is survived by her daughter Jeanne and husband Jim Ringo of Highland. Her two granddaughters Jill and husband Mike Eaton of Highland, Kristi and her husband Aaron Keser of North Fontana. She has three nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her wonderful husband of 51 years; her sister Marilyn Gay, and brother Dean DuBois.
Funeral services for Betty will be held on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at Mountain View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino. Immediately following the services will be a gathering at Valencia Lea Mobile Home Park at Ward Hall, 3850 Atlantic Ave., Highland.
