Lukasik, Carlene Kay Lawson Peacefully went to be with the Lord Monday, November 19, 2012. Born, March 16, 1952 in Tulsa, OK, was a resident of San Bernardino, CA for a majority of her life until she moved to the West Cajon Valley in Phelan, CA to relax with her husband in the quite tranquility of the high desert and enjoy the beautiful view of the valley from her porch as humming birds and quail visited throughout the day. She is preceded in life by her infant son PJ and her mother and father, Versa Brier and Carl Lawson. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 40 years Paul Lukasik, her daughter Vicki (Danny) Wood, son Adam Lukasik, and her 5 rambunctious grandsons, whom she all loved dearly, Brandon, Austin, and Shawn Lukasik, and Dylan and her “sweetness” Nathan Wood. Brothers Lester Pate and Howard Lawson and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Carlene was a proud Pirate who graduated from Pacific High School in 1970 and then earned and maintained her cosmetology license from the Marinello School of Beauty in San Bernardino. She was a bank teller for Bank of America main branch in San Bernardino for many years. She later became the secretary to the San Bernardino Fire Marshall leaving that position to be a homemaker for a short time. She proudly retired from the Federal Government for which she was a secretary at several locations including Ballistic Missiles on Norton AFB, DEFAS in Long Beach, and the Veterans Hospital in Loma Linda. An American Legion Auxiliary member for over 30 years, she was a patriotic and proud American and her favorite holiday was the 4th of July when she would splurge on fireworks, have a block party and crank the music. She loved to dance and sing and share good times with family and friends. She was a collector of many many things but mostly beautiful porcelain dolls, music boxes, and Elvis memorabilia. She also loved to travel and enjoyed her visit to Graceland, Mt. Rushmore, Alaska, and Las Vegas to name a few. However, Niagara Falls, where her husband proposed to her and where they shared their 40th anniversary this past June was very special to her. Her love of life and spontaneity, her fire and frivolity will be dearly missed. Visitation will be at Mt. View Mortuary 570 E. Highland Ave., Tues., Nov. 27 from 4-8 p.m. and the celebration of her life Wed., Nov. 28 at 10:00 a.m. with graveside service after.

Uncle Paul,Vicki, and Adam, I was so broken hearted when I heard the news of our beloved Wife, Mother, and Aunt. My deepest condolenses. I want to say one thing coming from "lil Carlene", I know once Aunt Carlene saw the light and her parents standing there holding P.J. in their arms, she was happy and hugged them. But, shortley after that she went looking for Elvis! I will always cherish my memories with Aunt Carlene and know I will see you again, and will be able to spot you right away bacause you'll be the one standing there with your "Halo" on crooked. I Love you Aunt Carlene and have said my name with pride, in honor of you. I Love you Uncle Paul ,Vicki an Adam I've been praying for you all!!Forever in my heart! Renae Carlene Green

Aunt Carlene,

The only memories I have of you are the memories past along through the years by your "best friend" whom I call my nanny. I heard about the great life you lived and the wonderful experiences God granted you.
The visual memories are vague but the smile my family wears when mentioning you and your family shows the woman you were.
You were amazing and touched the lives of so many people in my life.
Rest In Peace.
You will forever be in our heart.

My Dearest Carlene,
I and my family were so disheartened to learn that you past on to the Lord. When I learned you passed in your sleep, next to your Lifelong Love, Paul, I thanked God he gave you that beautiful gift before guiding you home. We have been "Best Friends" for 45 years. A lifetime of memories and experiences. Now I'm your "Best Friend in Spirit" forever. We will all see you again, as you're only "A Breath Away." Carlene, my wonderful, loving friend. When we were 15 years old, you reached out to take my hand, and took my heart. Thankyou for your wonderful friendship, and our shared love for one another and our beautiful families. I'll Love you Forever and Ever...Your Loving and Best Friend, Bert...And all the love from my Family.
