There are times that I sit all alone and relive  how it was when you were here. I am afraid as the time passes by that I am not going to remember those precious times.. or that I’m going to forget the sound of your voice or your beautiful smile…. That can never happen.. Why does grief hurt so much because you had a voice. And now…. There is silence because you were my every day. and now, every day hurts. Today I went through your things. So many memories…. so much of you in  everything I touched it still does not seem right that I am doing this. I cried. I laughed. I felt you nearby. I held things that you had loved. I held them to my face. I wished they still smelled like you I wished you were still here in this room. I closed my eyes and pretended that you were. You left so many things behind when God took you away your clothes… your books… the pictures… and me. Until the day that I join you, I will be missing you love mama.

One day, you were here. The next., you weren’t.. and somehow, the world just keeps going. Losing you changes everything.. and yet, nothing else seems to change. i’m just missing you love mama.

We were all going about our lives and suddenly you were not in our lives anymore.. if that isn’t the most excruciating pain on earth, then I don’t know what it is. We weren’t prepared. New Year’s,  grief , it feels  like … taking a step ahead without you. It feels like…. Leaving you behind.. it feels like…. Saying goodbye again.. how can we move into a new year that you never existed in??  I love you son. Love mama.

Grief can make us very selfish focused only on the people we lost, ignoring our loved ones around us, not aware of their hurt and the loss. We miss events, parties, and get togethers we stare blank at people when they speak life totally feels dark and bleak. it isn’t that we don’t care it isn’t that we don’t want to take part. We just need time to adjust and learn how to live with a broken heart. I miss you, Daniel love mama.

I miss my uncle Dan so much. He was so caring for me and everybody else. He was so selfless and so kind to others. He was also such a great man and did everything he could for me. Anyone that knew my Uncle Daniel can tell you that he was a great man with the kindest heart. He was an angel on earth and the only thing that’s changed is that he’s now an angel in heaven. My fondest memory of my uncle Daniel that I will always hold near and dear to my heart is spending Christmas Day with him and my family. He was a man of few words but his smile said all that needed to be said.  Watching his face of pure joy, sitting with his family, eating Christmas dinner at our traditional spot and hearing his distinct laugh, while watching his nieces and nephews open gifts, spoiling each and every one of them will never be forgotten! The lord is lucky to have you Uncle Dan, rest peacefully ❤️

My Uncle Daniel was a great man. Fun fact; My mom chose my middle name (Danielle) after my Uncle Daniel. He took pride in that. I will never forget your smile, your genuine laugh and one of my favorite memories of you is when you would win me at UNO and you would say, “Put me on the score board!” Lol I  will always use that line by the way. Christmas dinners will not be the same without you and I  will always make sure to save you a seat.

Daniel will always hold a special place in my heart. I’m so glad to have had Daniel as Alina’s godfather. He truly was the sweetest soul I know and I hold every memory of him close to my heart. His contagious smile and warm hugs is what I’ll miss the most. Daniel lived his life with showing so much love to everyone.
