Fred Lee Cross

Fred Lee Cross, son of Rev. Leonard Cross and First Lady, Mable Cross was blessed with life

on earth, on January 9, 1928, in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Cross enjoyed 67 years of marriage with his loving wife, Dolores Elaine Cross, who later

passed on February 24, 2023. Together they had six children Eric Cross, Greg Cross, Darryl

Cross, Stephon Cross, Sharon Cross Cherry, and Chandra Cross. Mr. Cross is also survived by

thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, seventy-five nieces, nephews,

great-nieces, and nephews, as well as other relatives and friends.

Mr. Cross was a proud Veteran of the Army and Airforce. He was a Staff Sargeant and

Firefighter, who had stints in Japan, Korea, and Germany before eventually retiring in California

from the Airforce in 1966. Following his retirement, he would go on to have a full career with

Southern California Edison and the Post Office, retiring from both.

Mr. Cross is preceded in death by both of his parents; all 11 of his siblings; Dorothy Cross,

Thelma Lee Cross-Davis, Barbara Davis, Victoria Ethel, Leonard Cross, Melvin Cross, Leo

Cross, Joseph Cross, Lloyd Cross, Adell Cross, Sr., and Raymond Cross; in addition to two

grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed and always cherished by all who loved him. Services will be held at

Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery on March 17, 2023, at 8:00 am.
