George was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 15, 1935,
to Betty and George E. Brown, their only son and their youngest child. He is
predeceased by his parents and sisters, Margaret and Doris.
George graduated from Pennsbury High School, in Yardley,
Pennsylvania. He later attended Woodbury College and received his
Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. George proudly served in the
United States Marine Corps from 1957-1959.
George’s career was in sales, beginning with L.A. Drug Company,
Helena Rubinstein Cosmetics, in addition to a variety of title insurance
companies, such as Safeco Title Insurance, First American Title Company,
Chicago Title, North American Title Insurance, and Pacific Title.
George began his career as a realtor in the 1990s, where he remained
for 35 years, working for real estate offices in the Burbank area, including
Fred Sands First Class, Century 21, and later Bill Toth Real Estate.
George was a member of the Burbank Association of Realtors since
1974. In 2007 he applied for and became an Honorary Member-For-Life
with the Burbank Association of Realtors. He was a proud member of the
Burbank Elks, Lodge #1497, and the Road Kings Car Club.
His passions were his family, his friends, his country, travel, classic
country music, dancing, classic cars, and the Reilly Raiders Drum and Bugle
Corps.
George is survived by Sharyn (daughter) and David Werschey, and
Bryan Thorsell (grandson); Paul (son) Brown; Kristin (daughter) and Javier
Zavala, and Andrew George Zavala (grandson); and Angela Dever (wife).
