Guillermo was a wonderful friend 🧡.   And, one of the best Maintenance Manager's Lake Arrowhead Chalets ever had. May he rest in peace and God Bless his Family.

I met Guillermo when I was 18. I worked with him for many at UCLA. I was a young girl without a lot of direction or knowledge . Guillermo was always very nice to me and always had patience. When I was doing something wrong he would kindly show me the right way to do it.  When Guillermo came into work the dinner shift, Jim always welcomed him with a big GUILLERMO!!! It felt like "Dad's here!".  Guillermo didn't hesitate to tell me if he didn't agree with decisions I was making, but he said it nicely and I appreciate that he took notice and cared enough to say something. I'm glad I had the chance to learn from such a nice person. When I think of Guillermo, all I can do is smile.

Guillermo was a humble, kind, caring, giving, and beautiful man and friend. I had the pleasure of working along side of Guillermo for over 20 years. I was the Chef and Food Service Director of UCLA Lodge and Conference Center, and Guillermo was my Lead Cook. I can't tell how many times a guest would come up to me and tell me that was the best Salmon, or Steak, or whatever the dish was that Guillermo had prepared that they had ever eaten in their lives. Guillermo was an excellent cook! I also can't tell you how many times Guillermo had came in and helped me when I was in desperate need of help to cook and complete a meal. It didn't matter the weather, heat, rain or snow, Guillermo would show up and help. I owe a lot of gratitude and thanks to Guillermo, without him, we could not have succeeded. God bless Guillermo, may he rest eternally in God's loving grace and care. I will miss Guillermo, we will all miss Guillermo.
