Henri John Raynaud Jr. wasn’t just someone I knew — he was my only true friend. From the moment we met, he made life brighter. We spent so many hours laughing, building, and exploring together on Roblox. Those moments weren’t just games — they were some of the best times of my life.

Henri had a way of making everything fun. He always knew how to cheer me up and make me feel like I mattered. Even through a computer screen, his kindness and joy could be felt. He built amazing worlds in Roblox, but the best thing he ever built was our friendship.
I’ll miss him more than words can say, but I’ll never forget him. Every time I log into Roblox, I’ll think of Henri — my best and only friend — and smile, remembering all the joy he brought into my world.

His passing in 2025 marks the end of an extraordinary life that touched countless souls, not only through his lens but through his kindness, humor, and quiet strength. Henri was known by many as a friend, mentor, husband, and artist, but above all, he was known as a good man — a rare soul whose compassion and creativity left the world brighter than he found it.

Born in 1951, Henri grew up during a time of great change, and he embraced life with open arms and a curious mind. From a young age, he was fascinated by the power of images — the way a single photograph could tell a story, capture an emotion, or preserve a fleeting moment forever. What began as a childhood fascination grew into a lifelong calling. He dedicated decades of his life to photography, turning his passion into his purpose.

As the founder and guiding spirit of Sparrow Studios, Henri became a name synonymous with excellence and authenticity. His work spoke volumes — portraits that revealed character, landscapes that whispered peace, and candid moments that captured pure humanity. He had an eye not just for light and composition, but for emotion. Henri believed that every person had a story worth telling, and he made it his mission to tell those stories honestly and beautifully.

Those who worked with Henri will never forget his warmth. When you stepped into his studio, you didn’t just meet a photographer — you met a friend. He had a calming presence that made even the most camera-shy person feel at ease. He would often say, “The best pictures aren’t taken; they’re shared between souls.” That was Henri’s gift — to make people feel seen, valued, and loved.

Our family is sorry to hear of Henri’s passing. He has been the school photographer for our kids since they were toddlers. He knew all of the students, he was always kind, and the kids really liked him. He will be missed by so many of us in this community. Our deepest sympathies and condolences to his family and friends.

May our God of comfort be with your family to catch every tear that falls and hold each of you ever so close.

Henri was a part of the UCA family for many years and he was not “just a photographer.”  He was a friend and cared for others deeply. It wasn’t just business, it was personal and he did everything with passion and dedication. 
I was able to pray for Pam and the family and he prayed for my family. He was a pleasure to work with and a joy to know; his  infectious smile and hearty laugh always lit up the room he was in.

Henri was the best of the best.  I am deeply saddened by his sudden passing.  He was more than just our school photographer, he was my friend.   Henri brought joy, love and laughter to all of us every time he entered a room.
