Mr. Martinez,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served with the USN during WW II fighting the Japanese in the Pacific as a crew member of the escort carrier USS Savo Island(CVE 78) which saw extensive action in the Mariana's, Philippines, and at Okinawa. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

We pray for God's grace for Joe and his family. Being around Joe was always fun, he had a constant smile, and had his share of stories. He was tireless and took care of one of the toughest pieces of freight railroad in the world with professionalism and pride.
