Kenneth "Kenny" Jernigan was a local small business owner in San Bernardino. Working in Tree Service for the better part of 40 years, he came to practice using his father's (Brent Jernigan of Baseline Machine) Stump Grinder at 16 years old.
Kenny worked part time at Baseline Machine and pulled his father's stump grinder on jobs through high school.
While he did not finish high school, he went on to build business after business. That being Inland Tool and KJ Tree Service/Firewood.
Kenny was active in Tree trimming until taking a fall from an 80 ft palm tree. He then decided to keep his contacts and start a firewood business using fallen trees and processing firewood to be used for warmth in all of San Bernardino County.
At one point, Kenny was managing 4 yards (Morongo Valley, Yucca Valley, Highland, and San Bernardino) with many Full-time/Seasonal employees.
Kenny was family oriented and looked unto others the same no matter where they came from. He was the type to take the shirt off his back to help those in need. With his judge of character, he was able to identify what someone was going through and help them through it that very moment. He was always the type to let someone in and treat them like family. Kenny had a fondness for children and made it his mission to have kids smile. His ways were always to better help those around him and his character was that of which you can look to for uplifting. Kenny was family to those without and was always a helping hand to those in need. Kenny believed in strong community and aspired to surround himself with love no matter the cost.
Kenny was many things ~ Kind, Generous, Thoughtful, Compassionate, Welcoming, Loving, Caring, Sympathetic, Empathetic, Spunky, and Charismatic.
Kenny lived a thriving 59 years, born on April 22nd, 1966 and fell to illness on January 29th, 2026. He leaves behind a loving Wife, Jamie Jernigan and Son, Mackenzie Jernigan.
Kenny understood what life meant and that it was precious. His faith strengthened in the end and is now at rest with our Lord.
Kenny Jernigan's Service will be held February 16th, 2026 at Mt. View Cemetery 12pm and his family welcomes those who wish to share happy memories of his life.
