

Kim was born in Passaic NJ on December 30, 1958 to the late Jeanette and Eddie Binns. She graduated from Hackensack High School and went on to enlist in the U.S Army. She was an advocate for higher education and went on to earn four degrees; Associate of Applied Science in Health Information Management, Bachelor of Business Administration, Masters of Public Administration, and Masters of Science in Addiction Counseling. Most recently after receiving her Masters of Science in Addiction Counseling she went on to work to as an addiction counselor.
Kim truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; helping other people, educating herself, traveling, and spending time with friends and family . Family was one of the most important parts of her life. Planning family functions such as vacations and reunions is what she loved to do. She had the purest heart and was the glue that held her family together. When she wasn’t spending time with family she would spend time being actively involved in her community volunteering for the Torrance Emergency Response Team, and the Beach Cities Health District. She had an incredible ability to reach people in a positive way.
Kim is survived by six siblings; Sharon Knight, Tesha Fowler, April Ready, Eddie, Willis, and Cory Binns. Eight Nieces; Aaliyah Thornhill, LaTesha and Bianca Knight. Kameisha, Tomeika, Shantelle, Raychelle, and Tamorae Binns. Eleven Nephews; Rayshon and Joseph Hoyle Jr.. Jason and Nelson Saha Jr.. Marquis and Aalahjah Thornhill. Lovell, Anderson, Carter, Noah, and Willis Binns Jr.. Seven Great Nieces and Twelve Great Nephews. Two Great Niece in-laws; Lakisha Hoyle and Brianna Binns. She also leaves behind four Special Friends that she held dear to her heart; Hazel Stuckey, Carolyn Lewis, Shirley and Keith Hopkins.
