I reminder a time in 1980s when My brother Leonard and Norma were going to get married.  She was staying at my parents house in El Mirage, AZ. She helped me make salsa for their wedding.  I enjoyed spending those moments with her.  Rico Rivera (Phoenix, AZ)

I was shocked with sorrow when Diana called me and told me the sad news of Mamason's passing(Mamason was the name used by all the international students she had hosted at her lovely home.  I think it meant host mom in Japanese.)  I never thought our kind, loving and wise mom in this country would one day leave us.  I had thought she would always be there at her beautiful house where so many of the lonely international students called home, smiling, ready at any minute to give us advice, introducing to us the American and Hispanic cultures and life skills, treating us to her delicious homemade delicacies, making us laugh with her humorous stories, and cheering us up with her uplifting spirit at  all times.  My son in college still remembered the Christmas gift Grandma gave him--taking him and me to the movie theater to watch the Disney movie Anastasia.  It was the first time for him to be in an American movie theater and how we loved the beautiful music and story!  Mamason was so considerate and had such a big heart.  She opened her home to my whole family(3 of us) when we were in a very difficult situation and showed us her sympathy and generosity.  All the time we spent at her home were happy memories filled with love and affection showered by her and Papason too.  Of course we consider all her family as our own family here in the United States.  We remember Priscilla's excellent organization skills, Jeannette's gentle smiles, Suzanne's gracefulness, Diana's happy visits with Reina, Maria's beautiful voice(Mamason even took me to listen to her sing! How I enjoyed the time we spent there!), John's dating with Brenda, making of Tamales for Christmas and seeing them wrapping the gifts and all the grandchildren laughing happily together on Christmas Eve!  I will also remember how Mamason would patiently listen to me and give me advice whenever I had called her or visited her.  She had given me tremendous support when I went through difficult times. I considered her as my mother in this country.  Just a few weeks ago I was excited when I saw a house nearby her home on sale, thinking maybe it was an opportunity for us to be near her. But at that time I didn't realize it was God's way of reminding us of Mamason's motherly love for us.  Thank you, mamason, for opening your home to us.  Thank you for your guidance, teaching, kindness and generosity.  The world wouldn't be the same without you.  This world has become a better place because of you.  Since the day in 1931 when a beautiful baby girl was born until November 25 2014, you had given this world so much love and hope.  You were an angel sent by God to spread his blessings.  We love you and we will always cherish the memories.  We also want to let the Serrano family know that you are in our prayers at this difficult time.  Our deepest condolences go to your whole family.

To the Serrano family, my deepest sympathy for your loss but Gods gain. Louise and John continue to live on through all of you, a light that can be seen in every smile and felt in every hug. I was blessed to know them and offer prayers for strength and happiness in the memory of their spectacular life. God Bless

God Bless to a great woman and a precious soul who for a long time actually thought my last name was "Tostado". I didn't have the heart to tell her for years. No words could ever fill the void I feel now in my heart now that she is at peace and with our heavenly father.  A true matriarch of the Serrano family in the truest sense of the word. Her love and priceless wisdom she gave me over the years I will always cherish. But it was her wicked sense of humor I remember and will forever be a priceless memory for me. My ever so grateful heart goes out to the Serrano family for allowing me to experience the laughter and joy you all have given me for the last 20+ years.  Louise you will be deeply missed.

You were a precious gift from God above, so much beauty, grace and love.  You touched our hearts in so many ways.  I could not have asked for a better mother.  I will miss you deeply.

Since my first contact with her son John in 6th grade, Mrs. Serrano was always the heart of the Serrano clan--steady, straightforward, maternal to each of us young folks especially, as though her extended family included all who had ties to the house on Acacia. I never imagined a time when the Serrano family would be without its beloved matriarch; even so, I cannot begrudge the Lord for calling her home. As with my sister Guen's passing 5 years ago Easter, I have seen how God elects the most perfect manner--and moment--for each of us to leave this life. I believe Mrs. Serrano understood this, and my deepest sense is that she allowed the Lord to do His work when her hour came. Now I look forward to living the 'today' of my own life in such a way that Christ may offer me His hand at my passing, in memory (and honor) of the better qualities I've seen in those who have gone before. Now I look forward--if only God shall permit--to seeing Him in the face, and greeting you some day, Mrs. Serrano, as simply my sister in Christ; as simply, "Louise."

My wife and I got to meet this wonderful woman on one occassion we were immediately impressed as to the beautiful person that she was. Our prayers and condolences go out to the Serrano Family.
May God help you heal from your loss with his tender mercy.

 When I think back through the years the Serrano Family has been a inspiration to me in many ways. I had always felt that I was a extension of the Family when I would come to Birthdays & other celebrations. Mrs. Serrano always made me feel at home with the great cooking & warm heart. Thank you for those moments.
