Michael, age 44, passed away on May 22, 2020 at home after a brief hospital stay. He was born on April 6, 1976 in Pueblo, Colorado. He spent his growing up years in various K-12 schools in California and attended Santa Barbara City College and Crafton Hills College in Yucaipa. He has lived in the Lake Arrowhead area for the past 16 years. He spent a couple of years as a paid-on call firefighter and worked the “Old Fire” in 2003. In 2016, as he was driving up the hill on Hwy. 18 just below the fruit farm, he saw smoke, pulled over and ran down the hill stopping an alleged arsonist who had just lit the fire. He held the alleged arsonist until the sheriff arrived. He loved our mountain. His primary career was in construction. He worked for various contractors both up on the mountain and down the hill. He enjoyed planting tomatoes and other vegetables each summer, along with riding his dirt bike.
He is survived by his father, Brett and his mother, Sharon. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lindsay who passed away in 2018. He is survived by his fiancee, Randa Beckham, nephew, Joseph and his niece/godchild Elena. Also survived by his godmother, Pamela Parowski, who lives in Michigan along with his uncles, Victor Parowski, spouse, Marina, and Roger Parowski, spouse Heidi. In Portola Valley, CA is his aunt, Jan Manzo, spouse Arthur and in San Franciso his aunt Paula Nittolo, spouse John.
