Natalie is survived by two daughters, Elayne Dowling of Orange, California, Christine Jolicoeur of Upland, California and granddaughter Tricia Dowling of Orange, California.
Natalie was born April 21, 1928 to Manuel and Jenny Alvarez. She had two brothers, Bob and Ernie and one sister Beddie. She was born in San Bernardino, California and lived in Colton California. She went through grammar school, junior high and high school in Colton. Graduating in 1947. One of her favorite classes was journalism with Mrs. Beeson. This prepared her for her role on the 1947 class reunion committee that she served on for many years.
When Natalie graduated, she started working at a bank in San Bernardino. Still living at home she gave a portion of her check to help her mother and father.
Natalie married Louis Aguilar in 1950, during this time they lived in Long Beach California. They had two daughters, Elayne and Christine. Natalie met Louis on a bus in route for Long Beach. He was wearing his sailor uniform and so handsome. Natalie and her sister, Beddie were on the same bus headed for Wilmington to visit cousins. That night they all met at Pacific Ocean Park, the Pike, in Long Beach. Natalie and her cousins missed the last trolley home so Louis provided transportation, he had a two-seater jalopy with a rumble seat, they all piled in and standing on the running board laughing all the way. Soon a policeman spotted them and pulled them over.
The policeman escorted them home where he met Natalie‘s, uncle and aunt. Given the late hour Natalie’s aunt provided him with something to eat. The following day, the policeman arrived bright & early at the family’s home where they all shared breakfast together, including Louis. This was a favorite story Natalie loved telling Chrissie.
Natalie worked at Colton City Hall as a PBX operator. This is where she met Max Lofy, her second husband. They married in 1971. Natalie left her PBX job and became Max’s personal secretary for the Parks and Recreation Department. They were together for approximately 40 years. They loved to vacation in Carmel California calling it their second home. They vacationed in Europe, Hawaii, Alaska including many other states in the USA. But their favorite destination was Carmel-by-the-Sea. Natalie lost Max in 2016. Max graciously included Louis in all the family holidays and celebrations too preserve and honor his relationship with his daughters.
