Richard passed away at the age of 75, after a long battle with Type II Diabetes. He was born to William and Lilieth Bernard in Pittsfield, MA. He served in the US Army after graduating from Draper High School in Schenectady, NY. Richard was in law enforcement and security before retiring and was a member of the American Legion Post 777. He loved country music, fishing, roller skating, bowling and love of family. Richard is survived by his Wife Susan (Siska) Bernard; Daughters Lorie (James) Eklund and Judith (Richard) Kaiser; Brothers Lucien Bernard and David (Pam) Bernard; Sister Jackie Williams; and many Nieces and Nephews. Richard is preceded in death by his Wife, Aline Thibault Bernard; two Brothers, Leo Morin and William H. Bernard; two Sisters, Irene (Morin) Colbert and Sylvia Bernard. A memorial service will be held at Our Lady of the Assumption, 796 W. 48th St. San Bernardino on April 8th at 11 am. Interment will be at Riverside National Cemetery for immediate family.
