

Born 2-15-1944 to Fermin Rodriguez Sr. and Laura Escobar Rodriguez in San Bernardino, California. Married December 14, 1968, to Carolyn LeClair Rodriguez for 55 years. Rick has one brother Fermin Rodriguez Jr., sister-in-law Mary Jane, one sister Alice Chavarria, deceased. One son, David Garcia and many nieces and nephews. Rick liked to travel the states and Canada, took many trips to Oklahoma to visit his wife's family. He also, liked to fish High Sierra, Bridgeport and stop in Bishop at Schat's Bakery.
Rick attended Harding Elementary, went to Sturgis Jr. High, played football, and became a Junior Coach. He went onto San Bernardino High School and Graduated in 1962. Rick has had friends from elementary, Jr. High, High School to the present. Louie Serrano, passed 2020, still going Joes Ramos and Adolph Gomez, we were known as “The Untouchables”.
Rick entered the Army in 1963, went to Fort Ord basic, then to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri for combat engineering then to Fort Benning, Georgia for Jump School. After he completed training he was assigned to the 101st Airborne at Fort Campbell, KY. assigned to 326 Combat Eng. After leaving the service, he went to work for San Bernardino Co., and started as a maintenance and retired as Maintenance Supervisor after 37 years he retired in 2004.
Rick was involved with many Airborne Assoc. and was a past President/Vice President Inland Empire ABN. He was a life member of Coachella All ABN, life member of Hispanic ALL ABM, East LA life member of West Covina ALL ABM. Life member of 11th ABN Tony ABSA Chapter, life member 82nd ABN San Diego. Rick always said that “he had good times with his fellow airborne brothers. ABN All the Way”.
Rick passed peacefully away October 13, 2023, at St. Bernardine's Hospital. Memorial services will be at Mt. View Mortuary Wednesday May 29, 2024, at 10 am.
