Sam graduated from Kettering High School in the early 1970's. He then entered into the United States Naval Academy, after serving his country, he then went to further his education at California State University of Dominguez where he went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree. His career took off, leading him to work with the Department of Veteran Affairs for 32 years where he retired as an Addiction Therapist.
Sam was blessed as the Father of 4 daughters; Brittney, Tysheka, Tawana (preceded in death) & Step-Daughter Machelle Pemberton from Iowa. He leaves his wife Deidra Henry to mourn as well as his daughters. His Father Samuel Louis Henry Sr. and his Mother Novella Henry (preceded in death) from Detroit Michigan. His Sisters Monzella Henry (preceded in death), Bobbie German from Detroit Michigan and Novella Mays. His Brothers Sharron Henry and Steven Henry. Six Grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
