Stephanie Jayne Jones (née Beasley), 63, peacefully passed away on August 9, 2022 after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. She was at home, surrounded by her boys and groovin' out to classic 70's
R&B, because great tunes always make the journey easier.
Stephanie was born February 28, 1959 in Jersey City, NJ to Mary Constance Beasley, but made the trek out west with her mom and became a life-long Southern California resident. Stephanie was a graduate of San Bernardino High School High School, class of 1977.
She gave 35 years of service to the County of San Bernardino, working the majority of that period with Environmental Health Services.
To know her was to love her. Stephanie had a sweet, kind and selfless nature, and she was always ready to give a hug or lend a helping hand. Her loving personality meant that a whole host of folks besides her boys called her mom or grandma. Some of her favorite things were sipping a hot cup of Folgers instant coffee on the back porch in the morning, walking her beloved chiweenie pup Joey, or rooting for her Lakers. But there was nothing in life that she loved more than her sons and grandbabies. Whether she was serving as Pop Warner Team Mom or marching band booster, Stephanie was always a perennial cheerleader for her boys. The strength of her love will be passed down for generations.
She is survived by her sons Stephen Jones and his partner Janae
Tapia of Phoenix; Nicholas Jones-Liang and his husband Andy Jones-Liang, who Stephanie lived with in Los Angeles; Marquis Jones and his wife Kenya of Las Vegas; her grandchildren Justin, Inari, Khamari, Emarion, and Noah Jones; Kaila Hernandez, Taishima and Joman Moore; and great-granddaughter Khailee Moore; her sisters from other misters Janice Jones and Jill Bronsal of Rialto; as well as her adored nieces, extended family and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Constance Beasley and stepfather Harold Walter Long.
A visitation for Stephanie will be held Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404. A graveside service will occur Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery.
