Steve,

The world of small communities has lost a wonderful advocate.  Peace be to him and my deepest sympathy to his family and friends.

Steven had a kind heart and great way of looking at life. I always knew he had a close relationship with the Lord. He will be missed!

Allthough I did not know You on a personal level, I have however been tought by you, through some example, words, or expression. How is that possible? From the lovely people who have touched my life thru your educating of them. You have inspired and kept the light of God burning inside them they had no Other choice but to pass it on. All your education was not in vein, but ran through the veins of others and kept there faith Alive. And has enabled them to inspire others as myself to choose a Ministry to serve God, but did't stop at me my twin girls are also serving our Lord. I humbley thank God for you. You touch many, many peoples lives with your kindness, knowledge, and  most your Passion  for Our Lord Jesus Christ. God Bless You and give comfort to your family.

Steve was like family to me. I will deeply miss our conversations and his gentle spirit. The Ornelas house will not be the same without his presence. I know that he will protect all who knew him from above.

I'm saddened to hear of Steve's passing.  He was a good friend and we enjoyed reconnecting in Anaheim each year.

Steve was a very nice guy and good friend in San Pedro High School and will be missed by us all.

I remember Steven from Jr. High and High School in San Pedro. He was brilliant and very sweet. I am saddened to hear of his passing at such a young age, but know that he has joined the Church Triumphant into the waiting arms of our Lord. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

Steve was a kind and faithful soul.  Quick to laugh and encouraging of others on their lifes' path.  You will be missed my friend            Carlos Molina (Desert Hot Springs, CA).

Steve believed deeply that Christ was present in the gathering of friends, especially at table.  I feel blessed to have been one of them who gathered around his table.  While he'll be sorely missed, I take comfort that he is now at the heavenly banquet gathered with his family and friends.  We too will be there one day.

Steve was great friend and He always have a smile on his face and would  always say "Hi" to me and my girlfriends when we would see you at RE Congress or any workshop you did at Cathechist Day.  You will truly be missed and remembered.

Mr. Steven Valenzuela was the teacher of my Adult Confirmation Class of 2011-2012 at Saint Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Yucaipa. He was so wise and intelligent and he will be sorely missed by all that knew him.

Steve, you are such a faithful person, I know that Jesus was waiting for you with open arms, we just didn't want to let you go! I will remember you as a great teacher, friend and co-worker. I will miss you terribly. With love and respect for a good friend...
