Many of us say we have friends but we only have one friend for life .We met in 1975 and became instant friends. She was my best friend, she's a person that helps everyone without expecting anything in return. Without her help, her
friendship, me, my family would not have survived. We might have communicated once a year but when we did we talked for hours. We never forgot each other. Now I feel empty, alone, but I have memories and they are wonderful.
Love you my friend I will miss you, we will always be friends.

My earliest memory is my Tia Sylvia helping her sister Carol Villa-Marquez get me ready for school. This included brushing the tangles from my hair, I would not sit still and tried getting away from her as she was calling me names like “Flaca (Skinny)” and “Feya (ugly).” I did not understand the meaning of those words until later in life. My Mom Carol and Dad Jose Marquez continued to live in the house behind my Grandparents Henrietta and Antonio Villa. I was the go-to grandchild for my Grandma Henrietta. I remember my Aunt Sylvia lived nearby and I loved walking to Tia Sylvia’s place to deliver something from Grandma Henrietta.

I remember when we were kids and Tia Sylvia worked where they made the fireworks when she came down for the 4th of July she would bring us fireworks and I always got extra cause it was my birthday. Tia Sylvia made a lot of kids happy back then.
