Agnes Jeanette Sinfield

Agnes is survived by her husband of 66 years, Leonard S. Sinfield; children - Leonard D., Denise, Joseph, and Ann; grandchildren – Jennifer, Kayla, Haley, and Erin; and 3 great grandchildren – Izzie, Winnie, and Kailo.

Agnes was born in Yuma, Arizona on September 4, 1939, to Gregory and Jessie Campuzano. She graduated from Yuma Union High School. During high school, she served in the Civil Air Patrol, flew in a T-33 jet trainer, and attained the rank of Lieutenant. She married Leonard at St.Thomas Yuma Indian Mission, in Winterhaven, California in 1958.

Agnes, an accomplished, lifelong artist, won art awards in her high school years and attended the Colorado School of Fine Arts in Colorado Springs. Art galleries displayed and sold her works of art and her art graced the walls of family and friends’ homes. She passed her intense passion for art and creativity onto her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who all consider themselves artists and creators. As an artist, she explored many different media, including oil painting, needlepoint, fiber art, sculpture, and quilting. Agnes was inspired by so many things: gardens, food, beautiful objects of all kinds, and especially the artwork of Van Gogh and Matisse.

An avid traveler, Agnes enjoyed visiting many locations across the globe, from Okinawa to Puerto Rico to Hawaii, and to the Middle East, with especially fond memories of her bucket-list trip to the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam.

Agnes, a devoted grandmother, filled her walls and shelves with photos and mementos of her granddaughters. She loved spending time with her family and always wanted more.

Services will be held on Monday, March 10, 2025 at El Camino Memorial-Sorrento Valley. Visitation will begin at 10 am, followed by a memorial service at 11 am, with a lunch reception immediately after. Flowers can be sent for delivery no later than by 08:30 am on the day of the service. She especially loved sunflowers.
