From your forgotten family but we never forgotten you

Until now, it feels surreal for us that you have left us first. We once made plan of exploring some places in US such as national parks, etc.  Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails (Prov 19:21).
Ko Agus has a special place in our heart. He always welcomes & encourages us to stay in his home everytime we come to US. Many times he drove with his family all the way from SD to spend time with us.  He is the person whom you always want to hang out with: helpful,  loving, kind, patient, wise, generous & fun to be with. We remember how much fun we had: eating Costco hotdogs, visiting beaches, taking out Phil's BBQ, shopping, worshipping God, etc. Our last time of togetherness was on Dec 2018, where we enjoyed Christmas time visiting Candy Cane Lane, church service, Farmer Markets, etc. 
Last Aug was the time we heard from Ci Ling2 about Ko Agus's condition. We joined other prayer warriors to pray for Ko Agus. We hope for Ko Agus to be healed. But God plans differently. 
We'll continue to pray for Ci Ling2, Cailyn & Brycen for this difficult phase of life. We know no words can describe the pain in this time. Ko Agus has been a good example of a godly husband, father, child, friend & family, and he will be missed. May his legacy of faith continue to live on those that he has impacted eternally. 
We will definitely miss him so much!

Agus Chen was a man who loved God, Devi and Cailyn and Brycen with his whole heart.  He was a man of integrity and honor.

I first met Agus when he brought Cailyn to Awana when she was 5yrs old.  Since that time, I've had the good privilege to get to know Devi and Agus and share in life with them.  A few years after Cailyn came to Awana, Brycen came too... What a joy these two children are!

It was a delight to see Agus and Devi last June, 2022 when they were on their 3 week cross country tour.  What a blessing to visit with them and see them since we had moved from San Diego. We have such good memories of this trip. Devi, you and the children also have family memories of other road trips that you took.  Aren't you glad you did?  What a blessing. 

Devi, God is a great comfort to you in this time.  Please know I'm praying for you and here for you sis.

1994 when i just got here to the states - there were several figures that helped me to become what I am today and one was them was Ko Agus…   Thank you for your friendship, brotherhood, love, patience, kindness, tolerance, forgiveness, teachings, sharings, carings you showed to me. I would never forget your smile and when you joked… Years of knowing you - i hardly found a memory when you showed being upset or angered to others… You always hid from the spotlight even when you dedicated a lot…

Terima kasih sudah dengan ramah menyapa kami meskipun jarak yang jauh. Terima kasih untuk share2 an nya via whatsapp juga yang menghibur, mengingatkan, menguatkan. Tidak menyangka kalau Koko berpulang duluan ke rumah Bapa di Surga. Sekarang Koko sudah bisa reunian dengan Kuku, Kuchong, Koko Atat juga, dan terlebih lagi dengan Tuhan Yesus.

Thank you Agus for sharing your precious life with many of us - you've been such a blessing to many.  We remember when you help setup our SF church library for the very 1st time ~18yrs ago.. it still is an active ministry today.  You taught our teens at Sunday Schools.. many of them have grown up & have their own families. Agus, you are an inspiration.  You never gave up fighting and you knew the battle belonged to God. 

The moment you closed your eyes on this side, you opened your eyes on the other side of eternity.  Wait for us there.  It was a pleasure to serve God with you in San Francisco and in San Diego, but it will be most awesome when we worship God together again one day…

One day Jesus will make everything new and bind every wound.  The former things shall all pass away.

I’m saddened to hear about this sad news….
I’ll always have the fondest memories of Agus: an intelligent, funny and kind friend - in our youth, i was bullied a lot but Agus always stood by me and protected me when he could  - a teen who I believe grew up to be a gentleman! I’m sorry we lost touch and sad to  hear about his passing. I also have the fondest memories of his family and store in our hometown in Lampung - Farewell dear friend, I’ll cherish you in my heart.
