Just want to say that "My Uncle Tim Bates" will be missed. In recent years I was not in contact with him, but he was never not in my prayers. As a kid I remember his enormous love for my family even though he was not a blood relative. To say he was a sweet and loving man would be an understatement. He was a true friend of my family. God bless you, dear Tim. I can only hope to be as nice a person as you were. I believe your interview with our Lord, Jesus Christ, is going very well indeed. Love, Tom.

Al was always a great guy with a witty sense of humor and jokester! We always sent each other cards with crazy stuff in them to try to outdo one another! I have been missing and always will miss doing that with him. Sure hated to hear of Al’s passing and he will be sorely missed buy many! His love for his animals was so evident , especially his African Grey bird! I haven’t seen Al for a while but he knew I loved him like a brother as well as my other brother Uncle Max! Rest well Al and may you be at peace with Jesus now and be healed and new again!!!

I knew my Uncle Tim mostly through his sister, (PeggyTrueblood), my grandmother. He was the best of all us: kind, empathetic, generous, and in possession of an incredible sense of humor. My wish is that memories of him stay with you forever. Love and my best wishes to you and his memory.

Dear Max, family and friends,

Judy and I felt lucky to have Al as a neighbor and friend. Whether we met at the grocery store (Al and Max were often getting ready to help out some friend in need), on the sidewalk with our dogs over the years, or on a visit to Al while still home - Al always put others' interests first.

Al (and Max!) are people you hope to meet and have in your lives; people whose kindness and positive attidudes can't but help you see the goodness in life.

Our sympathies and support to Max and all those who had Al as a relative or friend.
