Alberto Paredes Butingan, age 76, untimely passed on Thursday, June 22, 2023. Beloved husband of 51 years to Resurreccion Butingan; loving father of Bryant (Joan) Butingan and Gail (Jeremy) Asmus; and dearest grandfather of Alexander, Emily, Mia, Bethany and Caleb.
A twenty-year Navy veteran who moved from the Philippines to Illinois, and ultimately set roots with his family in San Diego, California. He later spent the remainder of his career in financial services. After retirement, he thrived on traveling and devoting his time to his five grandchildren in Texas and California.
A funeral mass for Alberto will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126. Following the funeral mass will be a committal service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Drive, San Diego, CA 92122.
Our father's wish was to celebrate his life wearing a white top and black bottom at his service.
