

Alfeo was born on June 4, 1929 in Zamboanga del Norte, Philippines to his parents, Jose and Dominga Libiran. He served honorably in the United States Navy for 26 years, and through his service, he managed to immigrate to the United States. Alfeo settled in San Diego shortly after his arrival to America, and would live in the city for the rest of his life. After his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1975, Alfeo enjoyed a productive and varied career as a bartender and small business owner. After his retirement, Alfeo dedicated much of his time to his lifelong passions of gardening and home improvement. Most visitors to his home during his later years would often find him outside, happily tending to his fruit trees and vegetable garden. Alfeo will be fondly remembered by all who knew him for his tremendous work ethic and natural generosity.
Alfeo is survived by his wife of 38 years, Aida M. Libiran; his children, Josephine Hughes, Richard “Ricky” Libiran, and Alfeo “Al” Libiran Jr; his brother, Manuel D. Libiran; his sisters, Virginia Libiran, Nunila Acio, Angelita Centeno, Concessa Alejandrino, and Lydia Milano; and his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Dominga Libiran; and his brother, Jaime “Jimmy” Libiran.
