

Alfred David Kerendian, born on 14 November 1952 in Jackson Heights, New York was the fifth
child and only son of Aghajan and Mohtaram Kerendian who immigrated to the United States
from Iran in the 1940s. Alfred passed away on 15 January 2021 after a year-long battle with
cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Nayer Ettehadieh Kerendian, loving father to son Christopher &
daughter Naseem, and helpful brother to his sisters: Mahvash Nosrat, Mahshid Samimi, Zohreh
Saunders and Minou Mueller.
He graduated from the College of the Siskiyous, Weed, CA and later attended law school in
San Diego, CA . After graduating, he demonstrated his entrepreneurial talent and
independence by purchasing a home in San Diego that he renovated as a rental duplex which
later became the first home for he and his wife after their marriage in 1976. After this foray into
real estate, he obtained a California real estate license and together with his architect uncle
Bejan Arfaa, established a real estate development and management partnership. Together
they developed a number of residential and commercial units in the San Diego area, where they
were recognized for their good design and positive relationships in the communities they
served.
He was helpful and generous to friends and family, and had the loyalty of his clients and
employees who respected his honesty. He shared his interests with his children, the enthusiasm for cars with Naseem and his love of concerts and music with his son, Christopher. He loved beer festivals, the latest electronic gadgets, international travel with his wife, Nayer, and the San Diego swap meet. He is survived by his wife Nayer, son Christopher, daughter Naseem, four sisters and many other close relatives.
