Fred was born to Gaudencio Rances and Matilde Palaginog in Manila, Philippines. He was the eldest of 5 children, his siblings Leng, Carlito, Danny, and Esping. He married Agnes Sinchongco where they met at Patuxent River, Maryland and together they had two children, Jeff and Kimmie. Jeff married Ritafe and gave him his grandson, Jacob.
Alfredo, call sign “Ace”, served in the United States Navy as an aircraft mechanic for the F-14 Tomcat Fighter Jet from 1978-1998. He continued his military service as an aircraft mechanic contractor from 2001-2022, leading and educating teams working on the F/A-18 Hornet Combat Aircraft.
He was passionate about cars, loved driving on roadtrips, and was able to visit all 50 states. He enjoyed fishing, shooting, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He truly cared about everyone, sharing endless stories about life, accompanied with his infectious laugh. He would always have the information or advice you’re looking for in his back pocket.
He is survived by his wife, Agnes; Daughter, Kimberly; Son, Jeffrey with Daughter-in-law, Ritafe and Grandson, Jacob.
