

Almarine Edith Walker, a kind-hearted individual, passed away on October 2, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on October 18, 1930, in Tampa, Florida, Almarine was known for her faithful and compassionate nature. She was generous, patient, and sweet-tempered, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Almarine graduated with her bachelor's degree from Stanford, and shortly thereafter moved to San Diego to help her then husband Bud Held in providing ministerial support to the Pt Loma community. She was also a devoted mother to her three children David, Jonathan, and Almarine Jeannie. She especially cherished spending time with family near and far, and hosting gatherings with friends and relatives.
Almarine started a new chapter in her life when she married Johnny Walker. Together they were adventurous travelers and enjoyed backpacking in places such as Everest base camp, the Milford Track in New Zealand, and the Sierra Mountains. She also loved playing the piano, doing crosswords, and a good cup of tea.
Almarine will be remembered for her unwavering kindness and the warmth she brought to the lives of those around her. In addition to her children, Almarine is survived by her sister Katy Sabin, daughter-in-law Lisa Fisher, and her beloved grandsons Graham Held and Benjamin Held.
