Anna was born on February 20th, 1933 to Lorenzo Fabbrini and Anne French Fabbrini. Anna was raised in San Francisco until her father passed away in 1946. After the passing of her father, the family moved to Florence, Italy for two years. Anna had wonderful memories of her father’s siblings in Florence, as well as spending time with her Aunt Frieda. In the process, she became fluent in Italian.
Anna moved back to San Francisco with her mother, and attended Sacred Heart, where the nuns were very kind to her. She received her BA degree from the University of California at Berkeley and majored in French. Anna worked at The Bechtel Corporation, where she met many interesting people in the engineering field.
Anna met her wonderful husband, John Arthur Dodds (Jack), in San Francisco, and they later eloped to Reno on May 19th 1960. Anna & Jack raised their two daughters, Jennifer Dodds Jacob, and Karen Dodds Sparks in Atherton, California. They had many wonderful times in Maui as a family. Anna was very close to her granddaughters, Taylor Anne and Sydney Rose Sparks. She is also survived by her two son-in-laws John Jacob and David Green.
Anna had a wide range of interests including the study of what she called “The Band Theory”, referring to earthquake activity. She diligently kept track of the Richter readings of some earthquakes throughout the World from the U.S.G.S. She felt that when some earthquakes occurred, there could be a similarly-sized earthquake occurring on the opposite side of the world.
Animals of all shapes and sizes were a concern of Anna’s. Anna was passionate about adopting pets, including their rescue-family dog, Theo. She would donate to various animal organizations from humming birds to wild elephants. Of all the animal organizations she enjoyed being part of, The Humane Society was perhaps her most favorite.
Anna requested to have a private family service. If you want to make a donation to your favorite animal charity, Anna would prefer helping animals over flowers.
