Annie M. Myles was born on January 29, 1928 to the late Otis and Annie C. Cooper in the city of Minden, Louisiana.
Annie had two (2) sisters (Christine and Denise (Shug) Cooper) and four (4) brothers (L.C, Jay, Jesse and Roy Cooper).
Due to family obligations, Annie’s formal education was limited. Her life’s experiences were more than an adequate substitute for her limited education. Annie was proud to be who she was.
Annie was a woman who had many talents that she used. She worked as a housekeeper and school cook assistant with the San Diego City Schools before her back injury. She was always loving, caring, willing to help others and a trustworthy good worker. Annie was willing to take charge of any work task given.
Annie was later united with her best friend and sweetheart, Jim Myles in holy matrimony. Annie had two (6) children, Sammy, Carolyn, Vilena, Vickie, David and step-daughter Valerie. Annie strongly supported and defended family values.
Annie was unique and one of a kind. She was very direct when she would communicate with others, everyone knew exactly where they stood with her. Annie always taught us that you could accomplish any goals in life if you were willing to make the effort. She was a woman who did not accept rejection or defeat.
Annie had a smile that was genuine and infectious, her smile could warm the hearts of most people around her.
Annie accepted Christ as her savior at a very early age and joined Mt. Olive C.O.G.I.C. here in San Diego, she led her family to the church to accept Christ as their savior. When she became a believer Annie became an advocate for Christ and a missionary for the church, she was not ashamed to witness to anyone who would listen. Annie based her life around her belief in God and she was willing to serve God in any way she could.
Amazing Grace was here favorite song. In her pain she would sing this song, but she never complained but put it the Lords hand.
On July 22, 2015, Annie M. Myles was called home to be with her Lord, Savior and husband Jim.
“Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost, but now I am found,
Was blind, but now I see”.
Annie was preceded in death by her husband Jim Myles, brother(s) L. C., Jay, Jesse and sister Christine (Zollicoffer).
Left to cherish her memories and well deserved peaceful rest is her daughter(s); Carolyn (Robert), Vilena (Russell), Vickie and step daughter Valerie; and sons Sammy (Thelma) and David. Grandchildren & great-grand children and relatives cherishing memories are; Shawn (Sue), Vanessa, Natasha, Rachel
