His faith provided him with strength and guidance throughout his life.
From a young age, Armando had a passion for baseball, demonstrating his athleticism as a catcher. His dedication to the sport led him to play on a semi-professional team in Tijuana.
Armando served in the United States Army. His military service not only instilled a sense of discipline but also allowed him to gain valuable experiences that shaped his character.
Armando decided to pursue his education at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). There, he became talented at carpentry. Under the guidance of skilled instructors, he mastered the craft. Using his newfound abilities to create the pews that now grace the university's cathedral, leaving a tangible mark of his hard work.
Armando had a love for the San Diego Padres, passionately following their games and celebrating the triumphs of the team. He loved music; he collected records often sharing this passion with family and friends.
Above all, Armando treasured his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and uncle who always prioritized the happiness and well-being of his loved ones. He created a warm and inviting home, where laughter and love flourished.
On February 18, 2025, Armando Torres Medina passed away in San Diego, California, leaving a legacy of kindness, faith, and dedication. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him, as his impact on their lives will resonate greatly.
